  A few years ago I lost my job because the company I worked for went out of business, due to financial hardship my house was going into foreclosure, someone referred Our Lady of mount carmel church to me and said they can help me save ny house. I made an appointment and spoke to the staff, they asked me for all of my personal information and supporting documents, such as proof of income, my birth certificate, social security card, driver's license, etc. They said that they would get back to me, and let me know the amount of financial help they was going to give me. I never received a call, every time I called to follow up, no one was ever available to speak with, I eventually ended up losing my house, but the worse part is these organizations offering help and assistance, and having access to all of your personal information, when they had no intentions on helping you. It's a shame when you have to humble yourself to even ask a stranger for help, and they pretty much just laugh in your face, and probably have my down in the books as someone they helped, when they actually didn't. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who experienced this from them.

  This is a wonderful parish. As a visitor from Massachusetts, I am truly moved by the warmth and outward display of love shown by the assembly here. The pastor gives great homilies.
