  I cannot believe your church would not honor a memorial service for a tithe paying member who recently passed away out of state. Im in utter disbelief right now.

  I contacted our family home church in First Church of Newport News after my mothers passing requesting to have my mother' memorial service there in mid February. They finally contacted me back and indicated because she has been gone away to another state that they would not be able to honor my request. I explained that she was gone due to illness and I live out of town having to take care of her being her only child. They still says there was nothing they could do. So all the years that she attended and paid her money didn't count? The years we served on the usher board and I participated in the Sunbeam Choir didn't count. Never question why I don't fool with the black church. It's not about community is really about if you're still paying your money. No worries, I'll get it done and it will honor her name.

  THIS CHURCH SHOULD BE A SHAME OF THE WAY THIS LIFE LONG MEMBER OF " THE FIRST CHURCH OF NEWPORT NEWS BAPTIST " WAS DENIED SERVICE AFTER HER PASSING " THEDOSIA MOONEY WATSON ",I GUESS HER MONEY WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU TO RECEIVE BUT NOT THIS LOVING WOMAN ,ITS SO SAD WHAT YOU PEOPLE DID DENYING HER DAUGHTERS REQUEST SHAME ON THIS CHURCH ,I WAS TRULY SADDEN BY THIS NEWS I'VE NEVER BEEN THERE & WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE THE DEVIL IS WEARING SHEEP CLOTHING !

  The Pastor, Rodney Johnson, is a great Teacher of Gods word. His patience and compassion for his people to know and live by Gods word is of the utmost importance to him. Some Churches don't have that. We are lucky.......thank You God....Anita Jackson
